The world is currently confronted with an unprecedented global crisis: an economic, social, environmental and identity crisis which leads us to rethink our progress.
In the coming years, we will have to take crucial decisions for the future of our planet: we will have to make ecological and energy choices, solve conflicts on access to natural resources and food and improve access to health and education…
We need to think now about ways to change our daily world for the better, if we want to protect the future for the next generations.
Today, women are essential drivers of change in our human societies. All around the world, women are at the forefront of the fundamental issues of health, education, peace, food security and respect for nature.
And yet, women are still the first to suffer discrimination, violence and poverty, and are still underrepresented at major political and economic decision making levels.
This is why we urgently need to strengthen the role of women as catalysts for change in our society, so that we, women and men, can build together a more sustainable world for all.
WE, women and men from all nations, involved in community, artistic, economic and political life,
APPEAL to all the governments of every EU country and the European Commission to launch a worldwide action plan, in order to:
1. Strengthen the role of women in society
2.Fight against all kinds of discrimination against women
3. Improve the access of women to basic services (education, health, food) and resources (water, land, sustainable energy) and contribute to their financial autonomy
APPEAL to each citizen, women and men, to take part in this Appeal, to sign it and spread it around.
